Guided Tour Terms & Conditions 2010

Please read our terms and conditions before making a booking

All negotiable pre-tour

Coach and Walking Tours

HALF DAY
£90 per half day up to 4 hours

FULL DAY
£140 per full day up to 8 hours

EVENING
£90 for up to 4 hours

OVERTIME
£25 per extra hour daytime and evening
£35 per extra hour after midnight

ADDITIONAL CHARGES (negotiable)
Client to cover lunch, dinner and accommodation costs during the length of the tour. (Alternatively, I am willing to arrange my own overnight accommodation and dinner for payment of £75.)
Client to cover out of pocket expenses if group to be met outwith Edinburgh.
Client to cover any pre-tour specially requested preparation, including tour planning.

CANCELLATION (negotiable)
Cancellation of tour with no penalty is acceptable up to 3 months before scheduled beginning. Tour planning will still require payment.
50% of fee if tour is cancelled between 3 months and up to 3 weeks before scheduled beginning
100% of tour fee if tour cancelled within 3 weeks of scheduled beginning.
Any deposit or tour plan fee paid will not be refunded.

Driver-Guiding Tours

All rates include fuel costs but no entrances or other expenses.

HALF DAY
£170 per half day up to 4 hours

FULL DAY
£300 per full day up to 8 hours

EVENING
£170 for up to 4 hours

OVERTIME
£30 per extra hour

OVERNIGHT CHARGE
£75 per night to cover dinner and accommodation costs

ADDITIONAL CHARGES
Client to cover expenditure on daytime food – lunch, coffee etc.
Any ferry crossing which forms part of the agreed itinerary will be paid in entirety by the client.

TOUR PLANNING (agreed in discussion with client)
A tour plan fee may be required depending on the work offered. This would relate to planning itineraries for a continuous tour covering a few days which would include identifying suitable accommodation and ferry crossings.
Single day tours are unlikely to require any tour planning fee, unless there is a lot of pre-tour research required.

PAYMENT
For an extended tour, a deposit covering the cost of my accommodation + 10% of the fee is due on confirmation with the balance due at the start of the tour.

In addition, the tour planning fee, any ferry bookings or other out-of-pocket expenditure will be due in advance. Details will be agreed with each customer.

Only British cheques are acceptable. Cash payment or direct bank transfer are the preferred options.  A credit card payment or through Paypal can be made instead, provided advance warning is given.  An additional charge may have to be added to take account of the percentage of the fee lost by the credit card transaction
