Guided Tours of The Trossachs

Private Scottish Tour

STIRLING AND THE TROSSACHS

This is a one daypersonal driver guide tour to an easily accessible part of the Scottish Highlands from either Edinburgh or Glasgow.

It would include a visit to the strategically and historically important Stirling Castle from where can be seen the Wallace Monument, named after one of Scotland’s most famous heroes, William Wallace (“Braveheart”).

Travelling westwards we pass Doune Castle (not just historical but famous for the filming of “Monty Python and the Holy Grail”). Then it is on through the bustling little town of Callander on the edge of Rob Roy country. An option here is a detour to the village of Balquhidder where can be found Rob Roy’s grave.

West of Callander lie the Trossachs, romanticised by Sir Walter Scott, with its many beautiful lochs and with the option of a visit to Loch Katrine where a boat trip on the steamer "Sir Walter Scott" is a possibility.

From there a detour can be made to see a bit of Loch Lomond passing by Aberfoyle and the Scottish Wool Centre. Here can be found of demonstrations of weaving and sheepdogs at work.
